Thomas Rigler recently joined the producing and executive consulting partnership Gerber Rigler with veteran producer and new media pioneer Brian Gerber.Gerber Rigler co-founded the Digital Hollywood Content Summit, a 4-day track for storytellers and content creators presented amongst others by the WGA, SAG, PGA, AFI DCL and the IDA and returning to the Digital Hollywood conference and trade show for the third time May 3-6 in 2010. Exploring the nexus of celebrity culture and activism, Gerber Rigler recently presented a new environmental online initiative for the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation during AFI DigiFest in November 2009. The series of quarterly digital challenges was incubated at the AFI Digital Content Lab in Hollywood, where the team serves as industry mentors. Gerber Rigler are actively developing literary transmedia properties and optioned the best-selling novel Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict and its parallel story / sequel, Rude Awakenings of a Jane Austen Addict for online, motion picture and TV series adaptation, both published by Dutton & Plume, Penguin Books (USA). Gerber Rigler oversaw the well received relaunch of Documentary.org as the Grand Central Station-style video portal for the international documentary film community. The Hollywood Reporter's Reel Pop Blog reviewed very favorably. As a consultant, Thomas devises and executes content strategies for production companies, TV networks, non-profits, web portals, authors and ad agencies, often across all platforms in the U.S. and Europe. Thomas Rigler delights in walking the razor’s edge of passionate and mindful storytelling. Fueled by a love for exciting film and television, he forges content that treats his subject matter with respect while finding universal resonance and commercial appeal. Thomas is a filmmaker producing and developing programming for television and new media. He executive produced the launch of broadband video portal Vine @ eonline for E! Networks and participates as an industry mentor at the American Film Institute’s Digital Content Lab, is a member of the directors’ branch at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and served on the board of directors at the International Documentary Association where he also headed the Interactive Committee.
